Meet Sully

Sully is one of our most cherished friends in Dallas, someone we have the privilege of seeing almost every week. Recently, he opened his heart to Marisol, our founder, and we’re honored to share a piece of his story with you.

Sully is an engineer, a writer, and a man with a remarkable mind. He loves writing and he’s currently working on a book. He often sends Marisol pieces of his work: stories, articles, and poems he has done and put together during quiet moments. Every time she reads them, she’s amazed. His talent is undeniable, and one of his dreams is to publish his writing someday.

Sully has walked through some of life’s darkest corners. He has spoken openly about depression, about moments where life felt unbearably heavy, and about times when he felt lost. But lately, he has shared something different with us, something hopeful. He says his heart feels lighter now… calmer, clearer, no longer covered by the shadows that once overwhelmed him. For the first time in a long time, he feels change. He feels better. And we’ve been blessed to witness that shift.

He writes beautiful quotes about love, life, and the lessons he has survived. To his friends, he is a pillar someone whose strength encourages them, whose presence feels grounding. He has earned the respect of his entire community, including Paul, one of his closest and oldest friends. They’ve shared years of struggle, support, and genuine care for one another.

Why Sully is on the streets is not what defines him to us. His past is not what makes him who he is. What matters is who he is today: a brilliant writer, a loyal friend, a resilient soul, and someone we deeply care about.

We are proud to call Sully our friend. We are grateful he allows us to walk beside him, support him, and help him in any way he trusts us to. And we will continue to stand with him as he moves toward his dreams… toward light, toward purpose, and toward the beautiful future he deserves.

On the left, meet Sully.
